Frequently Asked Questions

  • We currently distribute in Oregon, western Washington, and California. In the Portland-metro area (including Yamhill county) and western Washington we self distribute (please email orders@heaterallen.com for any wholesale inquires). For the rest of Oregon we work with Vertical Wine and Beer and in California we work with Lime Ventures.

You can visit the “Where to Find” section to see our wholesale accounts, we try to keep this updated regularly!

  • Short version: Gold Dot is a beer brand that is a collab between Lisa Allen and Kevin Davey that is produced at Heater Allen.

Long version: In November of 2022 Lisa and Kevin purchased majority of Heater Allen Brewing from Rick (who is still a partial owner). They planned to continue to make Heater Allen beers, but also started their own brand called Gold Dot Beer. While they could have continued making beer under the Heater Allen brand name, they wanted to do some things a little different and wanted to keep the Heater Allen reputation intact. Gold Dot will be making a regular IPA and possibly other non-lager beers in the future and many of the Gold Dot lagers will be filtered—a process that Heater Allen beers do not go through. Some beer styles will move over to the Gold Dot brand name, some will stay as Heater Allen. For both brands our goal is to make the best damn beer possible.

Gold Dot is made under the Heater Allen LLC TTB license, which is why all packaging says some version of “produced at Heater Allen Brewing.”

  • At this time we are unable to give tours or do tastings outside of our normal hours. But if we are here we are happy to sell you beer! Please visit the “Tap Room” section for more info.

  • The Tap Room is currently closed for remodel. We will be hosting a few events while we are closed, check out the “Events!” tab for more info. We are hoping to open back up with regular hours in spring of 2024.

  • Nope. Current laws do not allow us to ship out of state, sorry! That means you’ll just have to come visit.

  • Possibly! We occasionally have kegs available for home use. Please email lisa@heaterallen.com to inquire about keg availability.

  • No. Not only are growlers difficult to fill on our draft system, but they are a terrible way to package and store beer unless it is going to be consumed the same day it was filled. (Exceptions can be made for specialty growler fillers and crowlers, which do a better job of keeping oxygen out.) Luckily we package most of the beer we have on tap, so unless we are out of cans of a certain beer you had your heart set on, you should be able to take some delicious beer to-go that will last a several months if kept cold!

  • Yes. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome in our tap room. However we are still a working brewery and ask that you keep an eye on all humans and pups you bring with you.

  • We do! Right now we have hot dogs and potato chips. We also allow outside food.

We hope to add a food cart partner in the future. If you or someone you know is interested, please reach out!

  • We recently moved to working with printed cans and no longer have paper labels.

  • At the end of August 2022 we acquired the entire space at 907 NE 10th AVE in McMinnville. We are currently building out one of those spaces to house all of our cellar, all fermentation, lagering, and packaging—the brew house is staying where it is and has always been. Because we will be consolidating all of our cellar it will clear up the space where the Tap Room resides. Once we move all cellar pieces to their new location we will remodel the inside of the Tap Room to have more space and to be more welcoming so we can be open year round.
